EASTER BRUNCH WITH THE ARCHBISHOP
(St. John’s) Archbishop Martin Currie has been using much if his time since he was installed as the new Archbishop of St. John’s to meet with parishioners and organizations from throughout the Archdiocese. One group that he wants to spend more time with are the youth of the archdiocese.
The Catholic Youth Office of the Archdiocese will be giving the Archbishop an opportunity to meet with youth in an informal setting. The office has arranged for youth to have an Easter brunch with the Archbishop.
Lnda Maher, Youth Minister for the Archdiocese of St. John’s said that she is hoping that youth will come and meet Archbishop Currie during the Easter Break event. She is hoping that youth in Junior High and High School as well as Senior Confirmation groups will take advantage of the brunch to get out to meet the new Archbishop.
She is also hoping that youth will also invite their grandparents and treat them to a nice brunch. Other individuals who are encouraged to join the brunch are adults and young adults who are or want to support youth initiatives in the Archdiocese.
The brunch with the Archbishop will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, St. Clare Ave. on Tues., Mar. 25th at 10:00 a.m. Cost $5.00 per person.
Ms Maher said that youth are encouraged to book early and reserve their seats. The deadline for reservations is on March 20th.
Ms. Maher continued “Archbishop Currie is very supportive of youth and would love to meet as many youth as possible as this event.”
