WHO WE ARE
- The Commission.
The Liturgical Commission has eleven members, appointed by the Archbishop. Five members have their Certificate in Pastoral Liturgy from St. Paul University, one is on the staff of the Summer Institutes in Pastoral Liturgy and Religious Education (at SPU), one is a graduate of the MLPA, - and all have attended many of the Atlantic Liturgical Congresses. While diocesan-wide representation is ideal, and in fact is mandated, at most times it has been very difficult to achieve. At the moment, all but two members come from the St. John’s and Mount Pearl area, and we are actively searching for more members willing to serve. The commission meets monthly and includes an educational component in each meeting.
- The Director.
At present, a priest of the Archdiocese is the Director. He allocates whatever time he can from his duties as pastor.
- Liturgy Office.
There is a Liturgical Commission office at the Pastoral Centre, but no office manager. However, one of the Commission members is usually at the office for at least a part of each day, Monday to Friday.
